Investigation Underway Tonight

Boone Ghost Hunters will be in action tonight. Our latest investigation will begin round 9pm and will include two separate sites. One is in Ashe County and one out side of Wilkes County.

The main focus of tonights investigation is to catch EVP's. If we happen to see something that would of course be incredible, but we are looking to catch physical evidence.

Also tonight, we will be investigating in a different way that usual. We will not be using any light sources. We are testing a theory that states if you use lights (flashlights, camera flashes, etc) it 'scares' away the spirit(s).

This should be a great night for Ghost Hunting. We are keeping the group small since we want to eliminate any possible confusion in regards to the audio. We will also be recording audio in conjunction with a White Noise Generator.

Audio evidence, personal experiences and information concerning the locations will be presented in the next few days following the investigations and analysis.

A personal thanks goes out to our readers for the suggestions on 'hunting' locations.

MT. BETHEL REFORMED CHURCH

The Mt. Bethel Church in Blowing Rock is definitely of interest to the BNCGHA. The graveyard is known as a haunted location in Western North Carolina. According to legend, an Indian had hollowed out a log for his own coffin and was buried there.

This may be the site of a future investigation.

Old Charles A. Cannon Memorial....Update

The Old Cannon Hospital is a favorite location of the Boone Ghost Hunters. Our past investigations simply provided too much evidence to merely dismiss this mysterious place.

Since we begin investigating, we have had many write in with questions on how to find and how to enter the Hospital. This is not something that we recommend. If you do not receive permission from the owner, there is a good chance you will get caught by the local authorities.

Another group of investigators learned of this last year when they entered the hospital without permission. Upon leaving the hospital they almost walked out in front of a hidden police cruiser. Naturally, if they were caught they would have been in some serious trouble. Especially after all that has taken place there (vandalism, recent breaking and entering).

While we haven't been back to the Cannon Hospital in some time, we did drive by the location earlier this year. It was late at night and the hospital was full of activity. Lights were on and cars/trucks littered the site. What they were doing we do not know but it is something all investigators should take note of.

In an interesting bit of news, as of August, 2010, information continues to surface about the ongoing case involving Banner Elk Town Manager John Mejaski. According to several reports, Mejaski has been charged with breaking into the old Cannon Memorial Hospital and stealing a walk-in freezer door. The old hospital, which has been heavily vandalized since it closed almost 10 years ago, is owned by Greg Greene. According to the reports, Greene has talked with John Mejaski before and is shocked that Mejaski reportedly broke into the property and stole the freezer door. The case has been turned over to the State Bureau of Investigation, and Mejaski's probable cause hearing is scheduled for September 3rd.

Gravity Hill Investigation - Anything but Haunted

Gravity Hill is the perfect example of how stories can get blown out of proportion over the years. Located outside of Wilkesboro/Sparta NC, the stories go like this.

If you park your vehicle at the bottom of Gravity Hill and place it in neutral, your vehicle will be pushed up the mountain. Some even claim that hand prints will form in the dust that is on the bumper.

Naturally, Boone Ghost Hunters had to check this out. On July 12th we did just that and our findings are no where as incredible as the stories that have been passed around.

The evening begin when our local investigators met up in Wilkesboro. After traveling for literally hours, we had found the mysterious Gravity Hill. This alone is not an easy task. If you do not know exactly what you are looking for, you will miss it.

It should be known that Gravity Hill is nothing more than a dirt road that is surrounded by homes. It is almost completely flat!

If you feel like upsetting those who live on Gravity Hill, you can always drive out there and give this a shot yourself. We did and found absolutely nothing of interest.

Our team of investigators highly suggest that you search for another 'Gravity Hill' when performing your own investigations. There are many claimed locations in just about every state. This one, is completely bogus.

May 2nd, 2009: An investigation is underway this evening with the Boone North Carolina Ghost Hunters Association. Our destination is a number of miles from the town of Blowing Rock.

At a later time (next few days), we will disclose our investigation location. Naturally, it is never a good idea to announce our 'hot spots' before hand to prevent possible human interference.

BNCGHA updates: Clarvoient needed for upcoming case

Readers, we appologize for the lack to updates. It isn't that we have been taking some time off or anything of that nature. We have been working on some pretty wild cases. We would love to share our evidence however, we have agreed not to disclose any information about these cases due to respect to our clients.

We are currently seeking a clarvoient to assist us in an investigation coming up. In this particular case our client is being tormented in their home and because of the nature of the activity we believe that a clarvoient will be of great assistance. Please contact us through email if interested.

Investigation from the Royal Cemetery part 2

Here is part 2 of 2 from our investigation of the Royal Cemetery. During this half of the video we had some odd happenings. During the recording of this video you will hear Luke ask Josh (who is applying to become a member of the BNCGHA) to shine his light in a certain direction. Luke thought that he saw a shadow of a person. We all kind of ignored it until we listened to the audio from the digital recorder. We caught a EVP saying "I just want to see you." This was recorded moments after Luke said that he saw something.

Again, I encourage you to listen to the audio from the digital recorder and to watch/listen to the audio from the video recorder. Headphones are also encouraged. Listen to all of the audio from the video. At the end of our investigation we caught an EVP while driving from the cemetery. Very odd indeed. Email us your findings and we'll post what you find on our site.

Investigation from the Royal Cemetery

Here is video 1 of 2 from the Royal Cemetery. From the get go we didn't feel anything, sense anything, or hear anything. The entire investigation went on without a hitch. And that is the interesting part. We caught some very interesting EVPs. If you are interested please view these videos with headphones. You will hear several EVPs starting at 6:30 seconds. I am going to include the entire investigations audio from our recorder. One interesting aspect is that our video recorder and the digital recorder caught different EVPs.

I originally thought that I would release the times when we caught the EVPs. We have decided not to so that you can review the evidence and then tell us what you thought was said. Please email us with your findings.

Investigation from the Historic Harmon School

Last Saturday everyone here at Boone NC Ghost Hunters Association investigated two locations. One was the Royal Cemetery and the Historic Harmon School. Both are located in the mountains near the Blue Ridge Parkway. Here is the video of our investigation of the Harmon School. Our personal experiences here are pretty much nonexistent. We never did have any feelings. We never heard anything at all. I encourage anyone that is interested to watch and listen to this video with headphones. The audio quality on the video recorder is very good and hopefully nothing was lost while uploading to the internet. We didn't catch anything here but perhaps you might be able to pick up on something we missed.

Readers, tonight, October 11th, the Boone Ghost Hunters Association is on yet another investigation. While we will not disclose the location until after the investigation is complete, we will be posting live if in fact activity is observed. If ‘live’ updates do take place, you can look for those to begin being posted from 12am and on.

I do want to assure our readers that the evidence that we collected from our last investigation is coming and will be posted soon. Reviewing hours and hours of video and audio certainly takes some time. Not to mention that in many cases, the audio has to be separated and enhanced using Adobe Audition and Audacity.

On a special note, we want to thank everyone for all the emails, suggestions, posts and recognition of our work! We are quickly becoming (if not already) the number one paranormal research group in Western North Carolina.

As our readers know, over the weekend we investigated this well known location. We ended up with hours of video, dozens of pictures and hours of audio. While we will be presenting this evidence in the next coming days, I thought I would give you all a sort of preview of what we have found so far by reviewing the evidence that we collected.

First, I think it is vital that I state that we have found a very real connection between the paranormal activity and the building itself. After reviewing 45 minutes of audio over the weekend and looking back at our findings from previous investigations of this location, 95% of our experiences and EVP’s have come from discussions and conversations that are taking place concerning the building itself.

This is very interesting indeed and will certainly be the focus of our next investigation, if in fact, it does take place of this hospital.

Second, I think it is also vital to anyone that is thinking about investigating this location to heed this warning. Ok, is it a warning really? Honestly, I am not sure. I do want all of you understand clearly, we are not sure what we are dealing with at this hospital. While we have not been threatened in anyway, the activity and the evidence that we have received clearly shows that the spirits we have been experiencing, are in fact intelligent. This is what they call an intelligent haunting.

The EVP’s that we have collected and reviewed answer our questions, they tell us to do things, and they tell us how they feel about the location itself.

This is important! This is very important!

With any intelligent haunting, you never know how the spirit(s) will react to your presence. They know that you are there, they at times follow you and interact with the surroundings. All I can say is, be very careful!

As of recently there hasn't been many updates to the blog. That is not to say we haven't been involved in some investigations though. Just the opposite.

We will go into detail concerning some of the investigations that we have been involved in at a later point and time. One of our investigations turned out to be complete rubbish! Just pure nonsense.

It took place in Asheville NC as part of a Ghost Tour. We had our doubts when we signed up and we were right. More coming soon.

The other day I was researching some investigation suggestions that I have received and I found a site that mentioned a location that we had investigated in the past. I shared some of our findings and received a reply. I thought I would share it with you.

I will be updating this dialogue as more becomes of it.

My comments: I personally have investigated this location with my team many times. Is it haunted? Well, since I haven't seen a 'ghost' with my own eyes here, I will have to say it is possible. My team and I did in fact have MANY very interesting experiences and captured some pretty scary evps. Occasionally while having experiences we would capture photos that were incredibly bizarre. Not orbs but very strange bodies of light. The location is massive to say the least. It is not recommended that you visit this hospital without proper permission. The building is in terrible shape and it dangerous to walk around in. Over the years the place has fallen to the wills of nature as many of the windows and doors are missing. The tiles on the floor have come unglued and crack with each movement. The wallpaper in each room is pealing off....if the wall is still intact that is. Our investigations turned over some very interesting results and experiences. At one time we were in the 1st floor with a strange ticking sound. As we would investigate it would stop. We would walk off and it would start again. This was followed by one of the loud 'THUMPS' we have ever heard. It was so loud and powerful....we have no idea what it could have been. It happened multiple times without clear direction from where it came from. Another investigation involved opening and closing doors, movement without the floor tiles cracking....which is impossible since all the tiles in the whole hospital have come unglued. The evps were certainly the most powerful evidence we captured. Voices and very nonhuman laughter. It certainly gave us all chills every time we listen. At one point, a female voice (we had no female members at the time) says, "I hate this place!" Other evps would say, "Down below" when we were asking questions about the building. During our 1st investigation, a evp that was captured state, "I didn't do a damn thing" in reference to some questioning that we were involved in. I would love to go back to this location and investigate further and look forward to more investigations. I will check by here ever so often if anyone has any questions or adds to this. BNCGHA

Another Investigation is underway.....

It is always exciting to gear up for a investigation. Just the other day, we received a report from a nearby resident in a neighboring county of a possible hotspot. Naturally, we are all very interested in investigating.

The history of this location is without a doubt, fascinating! This area has seen its fair share of tragedy. Burned and flooded in 1916 and then flooded again some 24 years later. These events were enough to push the residents of this location to the point of departure.

Our investigation starts with hours and I will update with any interesting activity.

Gravity Hill Investigation....

Sadly our investigation of the Gravity Hill claims could not be documented.

Mainly due to the fact we couldn't find it. Our trip began one lovely evening on July 12th. A Ford Explorer filled with 4 worthy investigators ventured off to find the unknown. After driving around for hours and hours in the known vicinity of a Gravity Hill (there are many sited in NC, not to mention the ones known around the world) located just out side of Sparta North Carolina, our investigation ended before it even started.

We followed the directions given to us by those who have ventured to this location and even turned to the directions found on the internet....with no luck. We couldn't pinpoint the exact location......Or at least, we didn't think so!

The next day after our all night ride we conversed with our knowledgeable friends and it turns out, we actually had driven right over the Gravity Hill and didn't even know it. At the time, we knew we were close but without pinpoint directions we didn't know better.

The Gravity Hill just outside of Sparta is located on a very measly looking dirt road that is surrounded by homes. Now that we know where it is....exactly....we may return in the future.

Hello there viewers.
It has been some time since we have updated this blog. For that we are sorry.

All of that is about to change. Our group of investigators are more commited than ever to the world of the paranormal.

With this post we are very excited to announce that tonight we will be investigating.

We will be updating this blog here tomorrow (Sunday) with more information concerning the location and the investigation that is only a few short hours away.

From our past investigations, we have learned it is best not to giveaway the locations that we are investigating until after the investigation is complete. There are some who think they may be cleaver and add to the affect of the night. Silly Kids. :-)

Investigation 5 is now in the planning. We have a location set about 3 hours from the North Carolina Coast. We are preparing the group and getting our equipment in check.

At the moment, we are looking at an early January investigation. The details of the location and the history behind behind it will be posted here shortly.

This is going to be a one of a kind investigation and we are very excited about it.

Investigation 4 Evidence Review

Investigation 4 Evidence Review:

On December 1st we had investigation 4 of the location in Western North Carolina. We certainly had some very incredible experiences while being there.

Just minutes after beginning our investigation, we were given many interesting experiences. While on the 1st floor of this location, we heard a very loud slamming noise. Whatever this was had some serious weight to it. This happened twice in a row. As we paused and listened we asked for another sign that the spirits were there with us. We were given a tapping sound from the end of a hallway. As we approached, the tapping stopped. As we returned to were we heard the slamming, again, another tapping sound, very much like the tick-tock of a clock, again coming from the end of the hallway. As we returned to this location, the sound stopped and above us, was an extremely loud slam! If there was someone above us, we surely would have none it. This location has suffered greatly over the years. Without any care or climate control, all the floor tiles have come unglued. Making it impossible to move around with out great audible repercussions. We were alone!

As far as personal experiences that was about the extent of it. At the end of the night we ended up with over 5 hours of audio which has taken me some time to go over. What I found was truly interesting!

About 5 minutes into the investigation, a group member was talking about exploring the outside of the building. While he is speaking, the voice recorder picked up on a female laugh that is truly bizarre! To be honest, I am not sure if this sort of laugh can even be made my human means. One thing is for sure, it wasn't any of the six male members of the group that were there that night.

Later on in the investigation, one of our team mates is talking about the location and a voice was recorded saying "I hate this place."

That was one of the more interesting EVPs. We did capture some others, but they were so faint it is impossible to make out.

In conclusion, after 4 investigations into this location, I have no other recourse but to state this location as being haunted!

We have the EVPs, we have strange photos, strange sounds, and many of our own personal experiences (feelings and etc). Not only this but the location is the perfect setting for a haunting. So many deaths, so much suffering. The ones that died here certainly where not finished with what their lives had in store for them.

We will certainly be investigating this location again. Every time that we return the activity is increasing!

Of course, I would like to ask for some Haunted location ideas. I appreciate all the recent emails from the readers and welcome all to give us a shout out. Would love to hear from you all.

Newspaper Nonsense.

I had to take a break from reviewing the audio evidence from Saturday's Investigation. I was looking through Google for some haunted locations in Boone, NC and came across an article that was published online at

http://www.wataugademocrat.com/2007/1015/greenparkghosts.php on October 17th.

Basically a paranormal group called, The Hauntmasters Club, based in East Tennessee (www.hauntmastersclub.com), investigated the Green Park Inn in Blowing Rock, NC.

I read over the article and really found it to be quite ridiculous.

The article really focused on the groups feelings and so on and I have to state that this is really a bad way to go Ghost Hunting. While your feelings are certainly important in any situation, but when Ghost Hunting you are looking for actual evidence, not feelings of loneliness. In situations like this, it is easy for your mind to take hold and really create situations that you may believe to be paranormal.

Another thing that bothered me was a photo of man laying under the bed. Very unprofessional. The caption to the photo reads..."Jake Denton checks under the bed for both spooks and any easily explainable sources of electromagnetic radiation."

Come on. Any Ghost Hunter with a serious frame of mind would really find this disheartening. It is clear this person is playing around and I would find this disrespectful.

I checked out their site and looked at the evidence from their investigation of the Green Park Inn and found a video that they had posted on youtube. I will post it here as well.

The caption to the video says this..."This is one of the more impressive surveillance videos from Room 318, allegedly the most haunted room in the hotel, at the Green Park Inn in Blowing Rock, North Carolina."

Watch the video and what do you see? I believe what they are claiming to be impressive is the "orbs" that fly by. Twice I believe.

To myself and the group this is nothing more than dust or a bug/insect that is out of focus in the room. Orbs are extremely hard to actually prove because the cause of them can be just about anything.

This is a great example of where different paranormal groups really differ in investigation techniques and how they analyze evidence. Unless there is something very odd about an "orb," in most cases it is something that was captured in the way of the lens, either it is too fast moving or too small to focus on.

This is just something that I wanted to touch on. Look for results from Investigation 4 soon.

Investigation 4: Results Preview

Saturday night was certainly very interesting. I am beginning to review the evidence now. We have captured some very interesting photos and had some very interesting personal experiences.

At the moment I have reviewed about 3 hours out of the 5 hours of audio that was recorded. Out of the 3 hours I have reviewed so far i have found one very strange EVP! I will be posting it soon.

In a few hours I will be posting all the evidence that was found and a run down of our experiences.

Investigation 4: Details

Investigation 4 is now in the preparation stage. We have the location set for tonight. The equipment is ready along with our group.

The same equipment will be used but with the additions of another Digital Voice Recorder and addition Video Recorder.

This brings to the equipment to...

3 d.voice recorders.
2 camcorders with night mode
3 - 4 digital cameras

Tonight we will also be bringing a long a white noise generator to see if this helps with our evp recordings.

So far with our investigations we have been getting a surprising amount of Evps. With such active locations this is suspected.

As of 4:12pm we have six members signed on for the investigation. Our plan is to really simplify the investigation process tonight. We will split into 3 groups, each armed with digital camera, digital recorders.

Two groups will have camcorders that will be placed in certain locations for constant recording while the investigation is to be taking place.

With this investigation, we will be setting up groups in different locations of the facility. Instead of covering lots of ground, each group will be focused on asking questions and capturing EVPs.

During the last hour of the investigation we will be forming one large group and will be in the "hottest" location from our past investigations. We will tempt to get evps by asking questions in a large group setting.

It is clear that the spirits in this location are definitely more comfortable with us being there. It is also clear that they remember who we are.

I will update again before the investigation begins tonight.

I was watching some of the 2 hours of video that was recorded and it popped into my mind what I believe is something interesting.

I asked myself, "What type of Haunting is this?"

For the buffs out there, you already know that they are many different types of hauntings. I will go over them all a little later. I personally believe this be a Intelligent Haunting!

Intelligent Hauntings (by definition)

This type of haunting is what most people think of when they hear the word ghost. Unfortunately these types of hauntings are very rare. An intelligent or traditional ghost is kind of like Casper in the sense that they interact with people. The most common belief is that the ghost is connected to the site or people in some way.

Some reasons the ghost may be tied to the site or people:

1. Died as a result of a traumatic event, murder, car accident, etc.
2. Due to unfinished business.
3. The spirit may have died suddenly and not realized he/she died.
4. The living loved ones are so emotionally distraught they can’t let go.
5. The spirit is emotionally connected to their loved ones.
6. They cannot rest due to an injustice done to them.
7. Fear of the other side or judgment

These ghosts are generally associated with physical activity like slamming, opening, closing, unlocking doors and windows, voices, and sounds. A strong presence, a scent, or touch may be experienced. People rarely see a manifestation of the ghost in the form of an apparition or mist.

I think this perfectly describes this location! Every death in this building has the potential to fit into this category. The evidence and the experiences clearly fit this as well.

Intelligent these spirits are, as the name of our team member was captured in an evp.

I do want apologize for not updating the blog with the LIVE system. I said I was going to and to be honest, it was a great idea! The technology is in place for future events but it is unlike it will be used often.

The truth be known it is highly impractical to be typing away when trying to listen and distinguish what is going on.

The Results:

Wow, Saturday was awesome! We started the night at 1 am at the location. We had 5 good hearted, like minded souls for this investigation. In the last few days we have actually had a good number of new members which bring us to 6!

The investigation was basically set up as two teams, one with 2 members another with 3 members. Both teams worked together at the beginning then separated after 30 minutes. The total investigation lasted about 2 1/2 hours. We finished the night with a total of 4 1/2 hours of audio, 2 hours of video.

We truly had a great time investigating the location. It was nice to have so many professional and interested members working towards that common goal. While the video has yet to turn any evidence 9 i have to admit, I haven't had the time to actually watch all of it...but I will), we did happen to catch a number of very interesting EVPS.

The first really worth mentioning took place about 10 minutes into the investigation. We were in the basement looking for a way to get to the morgue that we believe to on a floor below. We are walking and talking and in the mist of us talking, a voice overlaps our conversation and says, "down below."

Certainly very wild.

We captured a good number of EVPS that I have posted on this blog. You can find them a little lower on the right side of this blog. Enjoy. I would love to hear what you think.

The next bizarre EVP comes from the 3rd floor. Two members were sitting down, lights off and asking some questions. One member asks for a name, and the EVP recorded says, "Ira." It then says it again. "Ira." This happens to be the name of the member asking the question!

Also, I almost forgot to mention, we happened to catch and EVP that says, "KILL!"
I do not like the nature of this so I won't talk much about it.

The results were certainly very interesting! This further adds to the foundation that this location is truly haunted!

Along with the audio and personal questions, I honestly be this is just beginning. The more that we investigate the more that will are going to catch.

Each time seems to bring more and more activity. The EVPS seem to be getting clearer and longer and more detailed in nature. I honestly believe in time we will capture some truly interesting EVPS. It is clear that the spirits remember who we are. During the investigation this time around, noone was introduced!

I will update further as I continue to review the evidence.

Tips and Suggestions: Rules for Ghost Hunting...

I thought a listing of rules for Ghost Hunting would be a great idea to share. These are the rules that the BNCGHA follows.

1. Use common sense! This is the number one rule! While you always listen to your instincts, it is easy for your mind to get carried away in questionable moments.

2. Question everything. If we hear something, we check it out. If something moves, we try to figure out why. If you take everything at face value you, we are only getting about 10% of the truth.

3. Never go alone. This is a biggie! For one, when alone you mind is usually in overdrive. You always need at least one of other person to keep reality grounded with you. I suggest when ghost hunting to have at least 2 others with you.

4. Know your location. This is a big one in my book. You never want to go into a situation without knowing what you are up against. Some locations may make good shelters for the homeless or a quite get away for teens. Walking in on someone is a lot scarier than seeing a ghost.

5. Be prepared for anything! This really reflects on everything. Clothes, supplies, batteries, etc. You don't want to go investigating in 20 degree weather with a short sleeve shirt and you certainly don't want your flashlight failing you because you left the batteries at home. Think and plan ahead. Double check everything! These situations can be dangerous if not prepared!

6. Patience. This is a must for any ghost hunter. If you can't wait for a response you will probably not get one. Some spirits will need to feel comfortable with you before making contact. This may mean multiple visits before any experiences manifest.

7. Respect is key in all things in life. Ghost Hunting is no different. Searching for Ghosts may take you to a lot of places. Rundown, abandoned and so on. Just because a location is falling apart of trashed by vandals doesn't mean you get to help with the destruction. Also, if you are at a haunted location this very well could be their (ghost) home. Would you want someone breaking your window?

8. Good Group. This really is the main focus of any Ghost Hunter. You really need to have a group of like mind individuals. A joker in the mist can ruin an investigation.

9. No Drugs, no Alcohol. This really falls under common sense!

10. No whispering! This is a big one for anyone looking for EVPs. Very easy to do when you think you hear something. When you review the evidence, wham you have a so called EVP....curtsy of your friend who was whispering.

11. Communication! Cell phones, walkie talkies are a must! Never know when you may need to call out for help or to talk with another group.

12. No smoking when taking pictures. Smoke looks like ghosts!

13. Clean the camera lens. If you have a dirty camera lens, you will end up with more orbs than you can count!

14. Dusty location? If so those orbs in your pictures are of no count!

There are of course many more rules. I will add more later. Enjoy

Investigation 3: Update 2

We are quickly approaching the beginning of our investigation!

Just a matter of hours away!

We have 4 members on board for tonight. I believe this to be the best number for this investigation. While the location is extremely large, the four of us should be able to make some really good rounds!

We will split the group shortly after beginning. This is to not only explore more ground but to cut down on contamination. When having more than 2 members together distant voices and movement can be hard to distinguish from actual EVPs and experiences.

I will begin updating via LIVE BLOG around the 1 am hour.

I will update as often as possible with events and happenings. I will also update tomorrow some time after getting some rest and give a quick low down of our ending experiences and thoughts.

The low down of the evidence will be posted as soon as possible! With so much evidence to go over and review this may take a week or so!

Naturally I am a very impatient person so I will be posting some finds later on tonight after the investigation is over. I always like to listen and watch evidence as soon as I get back home! So make sure to stay posted!

From start to finish (1am to 3 - 4 am), we will be investigating one of the most impressive locations in Western North Carolina! A location such as this has an incredible history with so many deaths involved the activity should be very high. Of course, we are not guaranteed anything, but the last two investigations certainly gave us a wonderful impression! The first investigation turned over some very nice EVPs and the second gave us many personal experiences! I am more than excited to begin and see what the night and the location brings!

The weather tonight is certainly going to be on the cool side!!! A cloudy night with temps in the lower 30's to high 20's. Later in the morning there is a possiblity of some wintry participation. My hopes is that this will hold off until after the investigation!

Here is a run down of the equipment that is going to be used in this investigation:

2x Digital Voice Recorders: (RCA and OLYMPUS)
3x Digital Cameras: (SONY, OLYMPUS and CANNON)
1x Digital Camcorder: (I believe a SONY with Night Vision)

Flashlights: Only LED!

2x 2 mile Radius Walkie Talkie System

The Location:

The location of this place is in Western North Carolina. I will not disclose the exact location or what this place is as it has been damaged greatly over the years by vandals. I believe it will be best not to give any exact details to prevent further damages.

This facility was in operation for 45 years and during the course of time, thousands died!

This location was brought to my attention from a family friend who shared with me some details that he had heard from other investigators.

He said, "The moans of the dead can still be heard through the vacant halls."

This of course certainly got out interests!

Our first investigation proved to be very interesting to say the least! While we were there the first time, we were really learning the layout of the massive building. While we wondered we took photos and recorded audio.

To be honest there was only one moment that we felt unease and other than that there were no major experiences. We did at one point in time thought we heard a sort of breathing. In the same room, we caught two very strange photos. One is posted on this blog and is the photo with a very strange orange orb between the two men.

We caught another photo in the same room but I have decided not to post it. While there is certainly something very strange about the photo, the quality was very bad and I felt wasn't strong enough of evidence.

Later in the investigation we did capture another photo, all of which I will be setting up in a photo album here shortly! The photo is of a doorway leading into a hallway. In the hallway is a smokey mist. Further down the hallway is the shape of a person. A head and shoulders. In another photo taken a minute later, there is nothing there. Whatever it was is gone.

While our personal experiences and photo evidence was minor but interesting, what came through on the audio was much much more impressive!

We happened to capture a good number of EVPs. Within the first few minutes of recording, we had a strange voice that actually over laps a conversation. The voice says, "where do you want to go?" or "How do I let go?"

A few minutes later the new batteries in the record die. Strange for sure but stranger things have happened! We replaced the batteries and continue. Immediately are the recorder is fired back up, another EVP is recorded. This one says, something a little stranger; "Why do you lie?"

Strange indeed!

Our investigation continued. This time, we are in the same room where we thought to have heard breathing, we also caught the two strange orb photos. This EVP really shocked us.

We ask if the spirits would give us a sign. A moment later, the recorder caught a voice saying, "I didn't do a damn thing."

Through out the recording which was an hour and forty-five minutes long, we captured a number of strange audibles. Including something being said by a female, even though there were no females with us at the time.

Interesting for sure and not bad for the very first night!

Our next visit to the location was very different in nature. The first go around was fairly straight forward with out much excitement. Not to mention the atmosphere was very light and never felt threatening.

The second time around, as soon as we stepped foot into the building, the energy was much much different! Heavy! Intense. This go investigation last only 30 minutes as we felt we were not welcome. The energies were building greatly and it felt like it was leading to something.

We began this investigation by hitting the hot spots where we recorded EVP's and captured the orbs and mist. As we walked the same paths as the first investigation, as I mentioned the energies were much stronger, much more threatening and darker! We all felt uneasy!

The experiences started off with some very odd moaning sounds! To be honest, at first I dismissed this as a pass car from the road that is a fair distance from the location. As we continued on, this moaning was changing in frequency and intensity. Within twenty minutes, it was clear that this moaning wasn't a passing car, as we could see the road far below and at this time, no one was on the road.

The moaning continued and as we came to one of the many stairwells, we stopped and looked at each other. We both heard something! As we listened, I heard a sort of knocking from what I thought was coming from the stairway, even though my partner thought it was coming from behind us. As we listened, we heard one of the heavy metal doors sliding across the floor.

It was at this point where the energy grew to very strong levels and it was time to go. For one thing, this building is extremely large, very very dark and without the proper number of investigators, something was wrong. As we left the building the activity was certainly growing.

As soon as we stepped foot outside, the energies and threatening feels vanished. Very strange for sure! During this very short investigation no audio other than the moaning was captured.

The Boone NC Ghost Hunters will be on investigation on Saturday, 24th 2007!

I will not disclose the location just yet, but once the investigation is complete all will be shared! Certain locations are not permitted by outsiders so addresses and names of locations may be kept private.

This investigation will be LIVE, thanks to Google and Blackberry!

Saturday Investigation 3: Update

It is Friday before the 3rd investigation of the haunted location!

I just wanted to give an update and some information.

First off, the photos that I have shared here are really misleading! The flash of the camera makes this location really look well lighted but I want to assure you that it is PITCH BLACK here! PITCH BLACK!

The size of this location is really intimidating! During our first 2 investigations we only scratched the surface of what this location offers.

Saturday will be the longest investigation so far and we hope to cover the most ground. While we will hit the hot spots from previous investigations we are hoping to hit other vital areas.

With us on Saturday, we will have a good amount of equipment.

2 digital voice recorders, 3 digital cameras, a dvr recorder and that about sums it up! For the sake of investigating I prefer softer lights. I have grown to love the led wind up flash lights. One minute of winding offers up to an hour of the brightest setting! Impressive and cheap and you don't have to replace the batteries!

At the moment, we will have four investigators with the possibility of five. The fifth investigator is up in the air.

By the end of the night I am hoping to have between 4 - 6 hours of audio, 2 - 3 hours of video and hundreds of photos.

Evidence will be posted and findings confirmed within a week of investigation.

Also, LIVE BLOG will begin after 1 am. I will update every 30 minutes or as events take place.

After the investigation has been completed and evidence is posted we will have BNC-GH members post their experiences and thoughts from the investigation!
